But as spring springs, attention shifts to the 2022 race itself. That means planning your Derby Day. Here’s how to tune in from home when it’s time for race day and the big event. 
As is tradition, the Kentucky Derby is held the first Saturday in May at Churchill Downs. This year, the race falls on May 7. Post time for the Kentucky Derby is 6:57 p.m.

NBC will broadcast the Kentucky Derby, with coverage beginning at 2:30 p.m. and continuing through 7:30 p.m. Coverage from earlier in the day at Churchill Downs will air on USA Network from noon to 2:30 p.m. 
Broadcaster information will be announced at a later date. 
Louisville’s local NBC affiliate is WAVE-3 (channel 3 on AT&T U-Verse, Dish and DIRECTV; channel 6 on Spectrum). USA Network in Louisville is AT&T U-Verse channel 1124, Spectrum channel 33, Dish channel 105 and DIRECTV channel 242.
